HoneyDripper’s Newest Editor-in-Chief
Written By: Maddox Pipkin
Over the past year, I’ve been honored to write for HoneyDripper, covering local shows and events, industry news, and the like. I am thrilled to join the team as the newest Editor-in-Chief and I can’t wait to continue my work here in a leadership role.
Looking ahead, I want to share my plans and am looking forward to connecting with new creatives interested in joining HoneyDripper!
I’m especially focused on utilizing social media to grow our reach within the SCAD community, encouraging things like short form content and getting people on social media to visit our site. I’ve found that many SCAD students don’t know who we are, and I want to change that!
I’m happy to report that we’re also continuing with posting our 4 panel comics. I really love what everyone is doing and seeing the way they approach a similar format. We’ve posted a couple at this point under the direction of our awesome last editor, and we’re going to continue that.
If you’re looking to join our team as a writer, our staff at the HoneyDripper have been encouraging interview articles, assisting our new members on how to set them up with the industry professionals that they admire. I’ve done so many interviews during my time at HoneyDripper and I believe it’s a valuable opportunity to get your name out there.
For our readers, interviews are a great way to gain insight into the industry and keep up with current events.
Equipping people with the tools to expand their conversational and writing skills will set people up for success after my time with HoneyDripper is up. I’m really excited to see what our editors can do with that kind of support.
Writing is one of my longest and strongest passions, so it’s important to me that I invest a lot of my time and energy into fostering this publication. Whether you’re a reader or interested in joining HoneyDripper yourself, I hope you’ll stick around for the next year!
